Lana Towers

Undergraduate Student

Oregon State University

Lana is a Seattle native and a rising junior in biochemistry and biophysics at Oregon State University. At Oregon State, she studies the structure of the SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid protein and its RNA binding capabilities. She is currently working on optimizing a eukaryotic-prokaryotic dual single-cell RNA sequencing method (EPIC-SPLiT) using a fluorescence-based cDNA synthesis assay and a Salmonella infection model. In her free time, Lana enjoys hiking, swimming, crafting, and scuba diving.
