Elizabeth Manis

Undergraduate Intern

As an Undergraduate intern for the Kuchina lab, I will be setting up a dual-species co-culture system to investigate the role of phenotypic heterogeneity in mediating cross-species metabolic interactions. I am a rising Junior majoring in Microbiology and minoring in Bioinformatics at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and some of my academic interests include genomics, medical and agricultural biotechnology, and medical applications of microRNA. In my free time, I enjoy playing the tenor saxophone in my University Jazz Ensemble, playing video games with my friends, and rock climbing/hiking around San Luis Obispo!
