Yujia Huang

Graduate Student

University of Washington

Yujia is a Ph.D. student in the Chemical Engineering program at the University of Washington, where she works in the Carothers Lab in close collaboration with the Kuchina Lab. She earned her B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Tianjin University and her M.S. in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from Cornell University. Her research focuses on applying microSPLiT to study the transcriptomic responses of CRISPRa/i-perturbed bacterial cells, such as Pseudomonas putida and Bacillus subtilis. By resolving regulatory networks at the single-cell level, her work aims to establish a high-throughput and cost-effective platform for advancing the engineering of industrially relevant microbes. Outside the lab, Yujia enjoys watching soccer and reading detective novels.
